You may be comparing the price of a high-flow ozone destruct unit like the NT-70 and wondering about any differences besides the price.  Consider a number of limitations and significant vulnerabilities inherent to the design of these kludge-type, do-it-yourself units:

Loose Design Tolerances

The “Ozone Annihilator” design does not use any padding or seal between the destruct media and chassis.  The wiring is messy and haphazard.  Although the document may accurately claim that these units have been tested to reduce ozone levels sufficiently, there is no proven testing yours will perform consistently.  A minor flaw in construction or a single component failure could significantly change the unit’s performance.

Portability

The probability of wiring problems or component failures will increase if a home-made unit is transported from one location to another.  The NT units are lightweight and can easily be moved from one location to another.  Their small size also ensures they do not take up too much room on work benches.

Comparison

Researchers nearing the conclusion of a five-year study on human aging announced Friday that they may have found a cure. In fact, a scientist involved with the study, who spoke on condition of anonymity, claims that early results seem to show that consuming certain brands of beer treated with ozone may actually reverse the aging process altogether.

Official results will not be released for at least six months.  However, extensive research statistics and materials were mysteriously leaked and have since been obtained by the Ozone Journal.

Methods and Results

A single macromolecule. Many of the symptoms of aging in humans are related to accumulated damage to macromolecules.

The study, which began in 2006, focused on how life-long human consumption habits relate to macromolecular damage in living cells, a leading cause of human aging. Researchers hoped to discover a link between certain foods and the rate at which macromolecules are damaged.

As the study progressed, researchers focused on a small group of substances that showed statistical promise.  Eventually they were able to confirm the shocking discovery that mice who consumed specific drafts of beer containing dissolved ozone were not only aging more slowly, but in some cases macromolecular damage was being entirely reversed.  After further refining the mixture, rejuvenation was occurring in mouse cells, tissues, and even whole organ systems.

Preliminary research indicates that an elderly organism will age in reverse back to its prime when put on a regimen of ozonated beer.

Beer Choice

While researchers expected that different brews would not necessarily produce the same results, the beers exhibiting high anti-aging potential (AAP) were a surprising and unlikely assortment.

Reaction

As a mixture of facts and rumor spread about the study, scientists across the world are raising their eyebrows and expressing caution about the findings.  Brow Furughd, a professor at the French Academy of Sciences expressed skepticism about the chemistry behind such a simple reverse aging formula and how the discovery could have been made outside of Western Europe.

However, Burt McBlitzed, of Alcohaulics Onymous, said his organization fully embraced the preliminary findings.  “Frankly, I’m not surprised at all by this.  I mean, I think we’ve suspected all along that beer represents the fountain of youth in some way.”

Administration

The anti-aging study was entirely under supervision and funding of the Great Plains Anti-Aging Institute.

The same chemical properties that allow high concentrations of ozone to react with organic material outside the body give it the ability to react with similar organic material that makes up the body, and potentially cause harmful health consequences.  Recovery from the harmful effects can occur following short-term exposure to low levels of ozone, but health effects may become more damaging and recovery less certain at higher levels or from longer exposures.

Important Government Standards

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requires ozone output of indoor medical devices to be no more than 0.05 ppm.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration(OSHA) requires that workers not be exposed to an average concentration of more than 0.10 ppm for 8 hours.

The National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) recommends an upper limit of 0.10 ppm, not to be exceeded at any time.

EPA‘s National Ambient Air Quality Standard for ozone is a maximum 8 hour average outdoor concentration of 0.08 ppm (see: the Clean Air Act)

Ozone Solutions

Parents who have children in diapers know that the battle against dirty-diaper odor isn’t easily won. As the father of a two-year-old, I often find myself cringing as I step into our son’s nursery and breath in the stink drifting from the diaper bucket. Even after performing the inglorious task of taking out the diaper trash, the odor lingers. What’s a parent to do?

While it may be that the only permanent solution to dirty-diaper odor is potty training, I’ve found that applying an ozone shock treatment is a great way to remove the lingering odor. After a treatment, our nursery gets a fresh start, smelling nice and clean again. There’s no hint of dirty diapers.

The process I use is simple. Obviously, the first step is to empty the diaper bucket. Then I simply plug in and switch on my ozone generator and shut the door to the room. Two hours later, our nursery smells like a fresh breeze! It’s just that easy.

Some points to note:

1. If you think your nursery smells a little, chances are that guests to your home, who are not used to dirty diaper odor, will be able to smell it through your whole house. An ozone treatment is a great way for your house to avoid the “stinky” label.
2. The generator I use is an OMZ-700.  It works greats for removing a wide variety odors from a single room.
3. An ozone shock treatment should only be performed in a vacated room.  It’s fine to step into the room to switch the generator off, but you and your kids (or pets) shouldn’t hang out in there while the treatment is going.
