ODS-10H Buyer's FAQ
Q.What is the discharge temperature?
A.The discharge temperature is dependent on ozone concentration. Discharge temperature may reach 150-deg F
Q.Does the ozone destruct unit require maintenance?
A.Yes, destruct catalyst should be replaced annually. Catalyst cost is $25/lb.
Q.What gases can poison the catalyst?
A.Sulfur Compounds, Halogenated Compounds, Hydrocarbons, Heavy Metals, NOx, and Silica. Once the catalyst is poisoned, it must be replaced - it cannot be recharged.
Q.What is the maximum inlet ozone concentration that will result in an outlet concentration of 0.10 PPM or less.
A.1% ozone concentration by wt. is the maximum inlet O3 level of the ozone destruct unit to maintain 0.10 PPM or less on the output. Higher ozone concentrations result in a specially designed unit. Slower flowrates at higher ozone concentrations can also result in ozone concentrations less than 0.10 PPM.
Q.Can the unit be recharged if water condenses on the catalyst?
A.The ODS-series should not be used with moist, or humid gas streams. If moisture does poison the catalyst the catalyst can be replaced. For humid air streams the ODS-H series should be used
Q.How does humidity affect the output?
A.The ODS-1 will have a diminished ozone destruct efficiency and may fail due to condensation on the catalyst.
Q.How often should destruct media be replaced?
A.Destruct media should be replaced annually for best performance.
Q.Will I get a tracking number when my item ships?
A.For customers who chose UPS: a tracking number is automatically sent via e-mail before the order leaves our warehouse. For customers who chose FedEx: a tracking number is usually available if requested by either e-mail or phone. For customers who chose USPS: tracking numbers are only created by USPS for select services, such as insured packages. We will be happy to provide available tracking information if requested.
